In-Service Education and Training promotes and supports systematic and sustainable high quality training and learning through effective continuous education and encouragement of the professional growth and development of "all" healthcare professionals (i.e. Students, BMETs, CEs, Nurses, Physicians, and other health care employees).
Educational opportunities and techniques
Experts agree that on-going training increases confidence and gives the "best" return on investment (ROI) for the organizations equipment purchases. Many equipment-related injuries are a result of user errors and not equipment malfunctions. As the complexity and sophistication of equipment becomes more and more difficult to operate then regular educational opportunities must be sought after and training accomplished to prevent patient mishaps, incidents, or death. At anytime a staff member can request other departmental staff or "group" training from the clinical engineering department. Typically, an effective train-the-trainer program must be implemented by the clinical engineering department.
