When Drs. Ralph Falk and Don Baxter opened Baxter Intravenous Products, Inc. on October 19, 1931 in a renovated automobile showroom, they made history by establishing the first manufacturer of commercially prepared intravenous solutions. Because of our commitment to research and development, Baxter’s history is rich with medical firsts, from the first commercially manufactured intravenous (IV) solutions to the first portable kidney dialysis machine, plus many more.
