AIV, Inc., a privately-owned Maryland corporation founded in 1983, is conveniently located near the Baltimore Washington International airport, a major East Coast transportation hub. All AIV operation and administrative capabilities are housed in a company owned facility. We have recently doubled its size to 20,000 square feet.
"For years you have known us as American IV, but we are more than just an IV repair company and we are now engaged in worldwide operations. For these reasons, we have changed our name from American IV Products to AIV.
The company originally repaired hospital dialysis machines and then, in 1993, began repairing medical equipment for the acute care hospital industry. Extensive repair experience gained over the years has allowed the company to reverse engineer, design, and manufacture new and replacement parts that meet the original equipment manufacturer's performance specifications.
AIV now focuses on supporting the hospital's Clinical Engineering department with engineered and manufactured replacement parts, accessories, and specialized repair services - all of which help lower the cost of maintaining patient care equipment. Its customers include over 2,000 domestic acute care hospitals, leading Independent Service Organizations, alternate site facilities, and international distributors.
AIV's major lines of business consist of medical device repair - including pulse oximeter sensors, fetal monitoring transducers and I.V. pumps and the sale of related parts and accessories such as pulse oximeter extension cables, power cords, AC adapters, and re-certified parts. The company's engineering team manages an active new product development pipeline to accommodate its customers' changing needs.
As part of the production process, AIV has committed itself to continuous quality improvement and is registered to ISO 13485."[1]
